Leadership for Healthy Communities
Leadership for Healthy Communities recently released their Action Strategies Toolkit, a comprehensive resource for state and local policy-makers that was created in collaboration with 11 of the nation's leading policy-maker organizations. The toolkit contains policy strategies for increasing opportunities for physical activity and access to healthy foods in 10 policy areas, as well as tips for getting started in their adoption and implementation, lists of stakeholders, successful state and local examples and other resources.

Assessment of Children: How to Use Repeated Measures of Body Mass Index (BMI) to Assess and Prevent Obesity in Children.
This document explains the use of Body Mass Index or BMI in assessing the weight status of children and discusses several examples of the usefulness of repeated assessments of school-aged children over a multi-year period. This information may be of use to health care professionals, school administrators, nursing staff, the members of a school wellness committee and other interested individuals who are considering the implementation of an obesity screening program or an obesity surveillance program in a school district.

2009 Montana High School Youth Risk Behavior Survey Results
The Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) monitors six categories of priority health-risk behaviors among youth and young adults, including behaviors that contribute to unintentional injuries and violence; tobacco use; alcohol and other drug use; sexual behaviors that contribute to unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), including human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection; unhealthy dietary behaviors; and physical inactivity. In addition, the YRBS monitors the prevalence of obesity and asthma.
