2011-2020 Montana Nutrition and Physical Activity State Plan to Prevent Obesity
April 28 & 29th, 2010 - Bozeman, Montana
April 28, 2010 - 10:00am - 6:00pm (lunch included): Plenary sessions will focus on the status of obesity in Montana, and the variety of current efforts underway to prevent and reduce obesity. Presentations will describe the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's agenda for changing policies and environments to make the right choice (regarding nutrition and/or physical activity) the easy choice.
April 29, 2010- 8:00am - 5:00pm (lunch included; breakfast for those staying at the Wingate): Workgroups will convene by the following settings for obesity prevention and reduction: Built Environment; Childcare; Food Outlets; Health Care; Schools; Social/Cultural Environments; Worksites. Workgroups will first identify gaps in Montana policies, environments and programs, referencing recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Institute of Medicine, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Center to Prevent Childhood Obesity. For State Plan development, workgroups will formulate strategies to fill these gaps over three year and ten year horizons.
